If you don’t know the blues… there’s no point in picking up the guitar and playing rock and roll or any other form of popular music.
“Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”
― W.B. Yeats, The Wind Among the Reeds 1899
Our family went to the East Side Hootenanny yesterday. Had a great time until a thunderstorm rolled in. Saw some friends, ate some treats. Listened to great music.Then rode home drenched. Logan’s words were “Best festival ever!”
1. Maddie giving the peace sign. (Didn’t even teach her that one). =)
2.Maddie’s mud shoes. It’s been exceptionally rainy lately so these are great for playing out in the mud.
3.Driving through the East Nashville area. Love the art.
4. Dan showing the kids how to drill wheels on a board. Dan’s Vox amp is too heavy to carry.
5. Showing Maddie how to wash some dishes
6.The American Boys Handy Book. Dan and Logan can build just about anything from this book. It has projects for every season. Love it.
Listening to our friends Jared and Kristyn’s band Repeat Repeat - A great Surf Rock band! “Like” their FB artist page!
